In the 2019-2020 season, the Warriors suffered a lot because of injuries, Steph Curry only played 5 games, Klay Thompson didn´t play all season, and Draymond Green only played 43 games. They had the worst record in the NBA (15-50) and they earned the 2nd pick. They drafted James Wiseman, they guy we´re going to learn about.
He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on March 31, 2001. He´s 7 foot 1 (2,16 m). He attended Ensworth high school in his hometown before being transferred to Memphis East High School, where he was coached by Penny Hardaway.
In his senior year, he averaged 25,8 points, 14,8 rebounds and 5,5 blocks per game most of the recruiting services ranked him number one in the 2019 class. In college, he joined Memphis, to play for the Tigers. In August 2019, he suffered a minor shoulder injury, which kept Wiseman out of some exhibition games. On November 8, Wiseman lawyers announced that the NCAA ruled him ineligible to play for Memphis because he took money from his coach. After, in November 20, the NCAA ruled that Wiseman could play again in January 12 if he donated 11.500 $ to charity.
After not playing for 7 games, he announced he would leave Memphis and prepare for the draft. He was selected by the Warriors in the second pick. On his debut, he had 19 points, 6 boards and two steals
After 33 games, he averages: 11.8 points 5.9 rebounds on 52.2% on field goals
His best game was:
vs T-Wolves: 25 points 6 rebounds on 64% from the field and 100% from 3
He´s on his rookie year, but he has already proven that he is going to be a monster. With Draymond and Curry next to him the sky it´s his limit.
