The Dubs played one of the worst games all season on the worst day possible. The Warriors spent 9 minutes and 40 seconds without scoring, and the Mavs went on a 28-0 run (Biggest since 2009) and they completely destroyed the Dubs in the 1st half. Luka Doncic once again had a great offensive night, with 39 points in just 28 minutes.
Golden State started pretty bad, playing no defense duiring the first 2 minutes, but they took their only lead of the night after going in a little run. Then, they collapsed. The Mavericks went on a 28-0 run and they took a 27 point lead just in the start of the second. The Warriors not named Stephen Curry shot 0 from 6 from three and 2/15 from the field. The Warriors had more turnovers than field goals in the first. A horrible quarter that ended the game and the hopes to get the 6th seed
The second quarter was better, but not much better. Again, the Warriors made less than 20 points, they 22.2% from the field and 11.1% from behind the arc. The Mavericks were leading by 33 at halftime.
In the third, the Dubs tried to make an almost impossible comeback that didn't happen. Dallas had too much firepower and Golden State couldn't compete. Curry had 15 points in the 3rd but Luka Doncic had 23.
Mychal Mulder actually had his career high 26 points, and in the 4th quarter, he went off. 19 points with no free throws shooting 100% (5 threes). Without Bazemore and Lee Steve Kerr is giving him minutes, and he is playing really well. The Dubs had a great 4th quarter but the Mavs destroyed the Warriors in the first 3, so they never had a chance.
Stats: Steph Curry led the Warriors with 27 points and 2 steals, shooting 50%. It's crazy that being the best player on the team and shooting better than the whole team, he only had 18 shots. His biggest help was Mychal Mulder, who had a great second half. 26 points and 5 rebounds for the sophomore. Everyone else played horrible. Wiggins, Poole and Oubre combined for just 35 points on 8/35 shooting.
Dallas did everything right in the game. Fantastic defense and offense and total destruction of a possible opponent in the play-in tournament. Luka Doncic had 39 points 8 rebounds and 6 assists. He outplayed Curry and he did whatever he wanted on offense. What a player he is really. Dorian Finney Smith had 13 points and 8 rebounds, and Tim Hardaway Jr also had 13 points, and 7 boards.
The only good thing is the same as the Raptors game, this is only one game. The next game is against the best Timberwolves of the season (They're on a 3 game winning streak) on Thursday.
