Warriors 114 - 118 Wizards

This one hurts. The Warriors could've won all 5 games from the road trip, but instead they only win 3. Steph Curry's 30 point streak ended horribly, with probably his worst game of the season. Jordan Poole, Kent Bazemore and Kelly Oubre tried but it wasn't enough.  Bradley Beal and Westbrook led Washington to their 6th straight win, and they take the 10th seed.

The first quarter was all Wizards. The destroyed the Dubs on both ends. But this kind of things have happened all season long. I've never seen Wiggins and Oubre play well in the same game, and I've never seen the second unit and the first unit play well together against 0.500% team. This has to change now if the Dubs want to get out of the first round. At the end of the first, the Wizards were leading by 18 and it looked like it was going to be a blowout. Curry was 2/8 in the period and 0/6 from 3. For Washington, Beal had 9.

In the next period, the 2nd unit made a push to get back and with two 10-0 runs, they tied the game. At the end of the quarter it was a 2 point game and that 19 point lead from Washington dissapeared. Oubre scored 13 points on 100% shooting and Gafford scored 8 points on 100% from the field for the Wizards. Almost at the end of the half, Deni Avdija turned his ankle badly. It was revealed to be a hairline fracture (Adrian Wojanroski), but he will miss the rest of the season. Prayers.

In the third quarter, Curry finally woke up, and he made 2 threes to give the Warriors a 7 point lead. It looked like Curry wil lead the Warriors to their 6th win in the last 7 games, but it wasn't like that. Curry had 10 points in the third and Raul Neto had 9.

In the 4th, Jordan Poole took over. He made 2 staright threes to give the Dubs their biggest lead of the night (11) with 6 minutes remaining. And then, it happened the same that with the Orlando game. Golden State blew that lead. Oubre, Wiggins and Curry shot 4/21 that quarter and Washington ended the quarter on a 25-10 run to get the win. The Wizards were leading by 4 with 15 seconds remaining when Curry made a layup to make it a 2 point game, and then Wiggins stole it. The Dubs had a chance, but Andrew missed a open layup to end the game. I have to say that Curry shot 0/4 from 3 in the 4th and most of them were in the clutch. Curry is not perfect, he is carrying this team, but tonight he was the one that lost the game.

Stats: In my opinion, Kent Bazemore was the best player tonight. 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 steals (tied career high) and 2 blocks on 58% shooting. Kelly Oubre was the leading scorer with 24 points off the bench and 9 boards. Jordan Poole added 22 points and a career high 6 threes. Curry scored 18 points (7 of 25 shooting and 2 from 14 shooting) and Wiggins made 14 points (25% shooting and 0 from 7 from behind the arc).

Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 29 points with 29 points and 10 rebounds. Russell Westbrook had another triple double (14pts 20reb 10ast). Raul Neto scored 18 points on 7 of 11 shooting. Gafford made 19 points on 63% shooting.

The Warriors have lost 12 games where they had the lead at the end. If they have only 6 of them they would be 6th. You have to close out games. Their next game is against the Nuggets on Friday with fans back at Chase Center.
